Picture proves that winning $2 million changes nothing for Si Woo Kim
Si Woo Kim became the fourth player in history to win twice on the PGA TOUR by the age of 22.
Kim’s bogey-free final round was a masterclass in scrambling on a course that was described as “superstar proof” by contrarian Brandel Chamblee, a comment that ignored the rise of the talented Kim. The Players, seen as the 5th Major by many, has one of the biggest pay checks in professional golf–just shy of $2 million.
In fact, Ian Poulter, who was accused of “playing for second,” still managed to bank $800,000 for coming T2. Any winner of this competition is a rich man.
Kim was spotted flying home the day after his big win Monday … on a commercial flight no less. More humbling still, Kim was in coach … sitting in the middle seat. Here’s photographic proof of his Spartan flight to Atlanta.

Kim follows in some famous footsteps, here’s Martin Kaymer after the 2014 Players:
I'm being a total creeper but this scene is priceless. Would you believe this guy won $1.8mil yesterday?? Love it. pic.twitter.com/2Py3AraM8p

Should we be surprised by this? Golfers fly most weeks of the year, and will inevitably do this the “normal” way some of the time. Kim’s story is fascinating. It recently emerged that he will have to return to his native South Korea to complete military service. That’s a daunting prospect for any person, now imagine what it must be like for an up and coming star on the PGA TOUR.
